How Hop on Truck collects and processes personal data under the GDPR. Questions? Email us at info@livingmeta.ai.
Last updated: 3 October 2026
Hop on Truck lets you "hop on" live streams of people driving Euro Truck Simulator 2 or American Truck Simulator on TruckersMP, and keeps a logbook of the parts of the game map you have seen through them. This policy explains which personal data we process when you use the website (the "Service"). It is written in plain language.
The data controller is LivingMeta, established in Leiden, the Netherlands:
a. About you, the viewer
b. About the streamers
We show live Twitch streams of Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator and link them to a player on the public TruckersMP live map when the names match. We process the public channel name, stream title and viewer count, the player's TruckersMP name, the truck's position and speed in the game, and a derived real-world place name. We also count, anonymously, where all TruckersMP players drive (in 100 m squares, without names) to draw the game's road network. We do not collect contact details.
We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics profiling, and we do not sell personal data.
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR art. 6) |
|---|---|
| Keep your logbook, uncovered map and medals | Performance of a contract (6(1)(b)) |
| Let you sign in and keep your logbook on every device | Performance of a contract (6(1)(b)) |
| Show live streams with the truck's position in the game, and build a ride's route from it | Our legitimate interests (6(1)(f)), using information the streamer made public |
| Keep the Service secure and prevent abuse (for example one viewer per account) | Our legitimate interests (6(1)(f)) |
| Maintain and improve the Service using aggregated data | Our legitimate interests (6(1)(f)) |
If you appear on Hop on Truck and don't want to, email info@livingmeta.ai with your channel name. We will remove you from the Service and block your channel from being picked up again. Informing every streamer individually would take a disproportionate effort (GDPR art. 14(5)(b)); this public notice takes its place.
When you hop on, the Twitch player loads directly in your browser. Twitch then receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy. The same goes for map tiles from OpenStreetMap, CARTO and Esri (satellite imagery) and for the scripts we load from the jsDelivr and unpkg content delivery networks. If you sign in with Google or Twitch, that service confirms who you are and shares your account identifier, name and email address with us. These services act as independent controllers.

Our hosting is in the European Union. Resend and some of the services in §5 are based outside the European Economic Area (e.g. in the United States). Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, this happens under appropriate safeguards, principally the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, rectify it, request erasure, restrict or object to processing, and data portability. You can download all your data and delete your logbook and account yourself, on My data (top right). For anything else, email info@livingmeta.ai. We will respond within the statutory period (normally one month).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch data-protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl). If you are in another EU/EEA country, you may contact your local supervisory authority.
We set one essential cookie, session, that links your browser to your logbook and keeps you signed in.
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The embedded Twitch player may set its own cookies (see §5). You can
delete cookies in your browser settings; without an account you will then start a new, empty logbook.
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and restricted server access. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure; please contact info@livingmeta.ai if you suspect any unauthorised access.
The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Hop on Truck is a fan project. It does not host any video and is not affiliated with SCS Software, TruckersMP or Twitch. Positions can be delayed or inaccurate; medals are for fun.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date and, where the change is significant, take reasonable steps to let you know.
